HubSpot Prospecting Workspace: How to Manage Your Sales Prospecting in One Place

August 9, 2026 · 5 min read

The HubSpot Prospecting Workspace is a focused interface inside HubSpot Sales Hub designed for reps who manage active outbound sequences and account-based prospecting. It consolidates daily tasks, sequence activity, prospect lists, and call shortcuts into one view, so reps can move through their day without switching between screens.

If your sales team currently jumps between the contact view, task queue, and sequence enrollment reports to manage their day, the Prospecting Workspace is built to replace that workflow.

1

Access the Prospecting Workspace

In your HubSpot portal, go to Sales > Prospecting in the left navigation. The workspace is available to users on Sales Hub Starter, Professional, or Enterprise plans. Each rep sees their own view, filtered to their assigned contacts and sequences.

2

Set your daily prospecting goals

At the top of the workspace, configure daily activity targets: number of calls, emails, and LinkedIn touches. HubSpot tracks your progress toward these goals throughout the day, giving reps a clear picture of what is left to complete.

3

Review your prospects list

The workspace pulls in contacts that are active in your sequences or that you have flagged as prospecting targets. Filter by sequence name, account, or activity status, then click directly into a contact to take action without leaving the view.

4

Work through your task queue

Tasks due today surface in the workspace alongside contact context. You can log a call, send an email, or mark a task complete without leaving the view. This is the same task queue covered in the HubSpot Tasks guide, but displayed in a prospecting-first layout.

5

Review sequence performance

The workspace shows which prospects are mid-sequence, which have bounced, and which have replied. When a reply breaks a contact out of a sequence automatically, the prospect moves to your active follow-up list. See the HubSpot Sequences guide for how to configure reply detection and unenrollment behaviour.

What does the Prospecting Workspace include?

The workspace is structured around four main panels:

  • Daily goals tracker: Shows progress toward call, email, and activity targets set at the start of the day.
  • Prospect list: Contacts you are actively prospecting, drawn from sequence enrollments and manual additions. Filterable by account, sequence, or stage.
  • Task queue: Tasks due today, with inline action buttons for calling, emailing, and logging activity.
  • Sequence overview: A summary of active sequences for the rep, with step completion rates and reply flags.

The workspace does not replace the full contact or deal view. It is a daily execution surface for reps running sequence-based outreach. For deal management, reps still work from the pipeline view.

How is the Prospecting Workspace different from the regular task view?

HubSpot’s standard task queue shows all tasks in a flat list. The Prospecting Workspace layers prospect context on top: you can see the account, the sequence the contact is in, and the last activity recorded, all without opening a separate contact record. This is particularly useful for reps managing 30 to 100 active prospects at once who need to move quickly through their day.

The workspace also introduces the daily goals feature, which is separate from the task list. Reps can set a target for outbound calls and emails, and the workspace tracks completion in real time. This is useful for teams with daily activity minimums or for sales managers who want reps to self-manage their output against a defined standard.

Who benefits most from the Prospecting Workspace?

The workspace is most useful for:

  • SDRs and BDRs running high-volume outbound sequences across many contacts
  • Account executives managing targeted accounts with multi-touch outreach campaigns
  • Sales managers who want reps to have one clear daily execution surface

Teams that rely primarily on inbound leads or that do not use HubSpot Sequences will find the workspace less relevant. For those teams, the standard task queue in HubSpot Tasks is usually sufficient.

Does the Prospecting Workspace show call logs?

Yes. Calls made from the workspace are logged to the contact record in the same way as calls made through the HubSpot Calls tool. If you use HubSpot’s built-in calling or a connected calling integration such as an auto-dialler, the activity shows up in both the contact timeline and the workspace’s daily activity count.

How do managers see team prospecting activity?

Managers with Sales Hub Professional or Enterprise can switch between rep views in the workspace. The goals and task progress visible are specific to the selected rep, which makes the workspace useful for weekly reviews: managers can open each rep’s view and see how many calls and emails were made against the daily target.

For aggregate reporting across the team, the prospecting activity report in HubSpot’s reporting dashboards provides a summary by rep, time period, and activity type. This connects the workspace’s daily tracking to the broader performance data available in your HubSpot portal.

Frequently asked questions

Which HubSpot plans include the Prospecting Workspace?
The Prospecting Workspace is available on Sales Hub Starter, Professional, and Enterprise. It is not available on CRM Free or Marketing Hub plans.

Can I use the Prospecting Workspace without sequences?
Yes. You can manually add contacts to your prospect list without enrolling them in a sequence. The workspace will show the task queue and call shortcuts for those contacts. The sequence-specific features such as reply detection and step completion tracking will not apply, but the daily goals and task management functions work independently.

Does the workspace sync with sequence enrollment reports?
Yes. When a contact is enrolled in a sequence, they appear automatically in the workspace’s prospect list for the rep who enrolled them. When they reply or unsubscribe, they are removed from active sequence tracking, though they remain in the workspace if you have flagged them as a prospect for manual follow-up.

Is the daily goals feature mandatory?
No. Daily goals are optional. Reps can use the workspace purely as a task and prospect view without setting call or email targets. The goals feature adds a progress indicator for teams that track activity volume as a KPI, but it does not affect how tasks or sequences function.
