Creating and Using Snippets
Snippets are short, reusable text blocks you can quickly insert into emails, chat conversations, notes, and activity logs. They help you save time by letting you easily use common phrases, responses, or bits of information across your records.
To create and edit more than five snippets, users need:
1. A Sales Hub or Service Hub Professional/Enterprise seat.
2. Or a Sales Hub or Service Hub Starter Core seat.
Users without these requirements can still create and edit up to five snippets in the account
.
How to Create a Snippet
1. Go to Library > Snippets.
2. Click Create Snippet in the top-right corner.
3. Enter a name and add content in the Snippet Text editor.
4. Use formatting options or add links, personalization tokens, and styles as needed.
5. Set a Shortcut name (this keyword will pull in the snippet in your text editor).
6. Click Save Snippet when you're done.
Note: Each snippet has a 2,500-character limit and works best without curly brackets, which can cause issues.
Managing Snippets
On the Snippets dashboard, you can search for, edit, clone, move, or delete snippets.
Edit: Select a snippet to update its name, shortcut, or content.
Clone: Duplicate a snippet by selecting “Clone” from the Actions menu.
Move to Folder: Organize snippets by moving them to a designated folder.
Delete: Remove snippets you no longer need.
To create folders for better organization:
1. Click New Folder in the top right of the Snippets dashboard.
2. Name the folder, and Click Add Folder.
Using Snippets
Insert snippets in emails, notes, and chat conversations using two options:
1. Type “#” in the text editor, start typing the shortcut, and select the snippet from the dropdown.
2. Click the Snippets Icon at the bottom of the editor and select your snippet.
Note: Personalization tokens (e.g., contact name or company) in snippets will populate only when using the snippet in emails.
You can also use snippets in your email inbox via the HubSpot Sales Chrome extension or the HubSpot Sales Outlook add-in for seamless access in everyday communication.
