How to set up sales pipeline
A sales pipeline in HubSpot is a visual representation of the steps that potential customers go through from initial contact to closing a deal. It helps sales teams track prospects as they move through various stages of the sales process.
Access Pipeline Settings
- Click on the settings icon in the top navigation bar.
- In the left sidebar menu, navigate to Objects > Deals.
Create or Select a Pipeline
- In the Pipelines tab, you can either create a new pipeline or select an existing one.
- To create a new pipeline, click on Create pipeline. You will need to name your new pipeline and define its purpose based on your sales process.
Define Deal Stages
- After creating or selecting a pipeline, you can define the deal stages:
- Click on Add stage to include new stages that reflect your sales process.
- You can rename existing stages (e.g., change “Appointment Scheduled” to “Product Demo Scheduled”) or delete stages that are not applicable.
- Assign a probability percentage to each stage based on historical data or expected conversion rates.
Customize Properties
- For each stage, you can add custom properties that capture important information relevant to that stage (e.g., client pain points during the Needs Analysis stage).
